The first weekend of December is here and you've got some gifts to buy. Gilles at the Grounds' sixth annual Bazaar is here to help.
Gilles at the Grounds Bazaar
Keeping its six-year strong traditional alive at its new home at the Adelaide Showground, Gilles at the Grounds will again host its annual Bazaar, just in time for Christmas.
12pm-9pm Saturday, 1 December and 12pm-4pm Sunday, 2 December.
The Adelaide Showground, Wayville. Enter via Leader Street
The event will be happening on Saturday and Sunday, 1-2 December, and there will, of course, be a broad range of stalls to sift through, including Solomon Street, Naomi Murrell, Elm Paper, ES Ceramics (locally made reusable coffee cups are a goooood gift idea), Etikette Candles, Hello Rosie Collar Co. (pets need presents too), and a whole bunch more. Check Gilles’ Instagram for the latest.
There will also be a roster of workshops, should you be looking to give something that incorporates a bit of elbow grease. Learn how to make flower crowns and festive wreaths with Huntermade, learn to weave with artist Elaine Magias, and get a tutorial in creating glass Christmas decorations with Joy Levins.
Gilles is a big market nowadays, so rest you feet intermittently between laps and tune out to the Bazaar Sessions, featuring a talented gaggle of local musicians, including AP D’antonio (performing on Sunday at 1pm, for any AP fans out there).
And for sustenance, among the many fine vendors will be the GANG GANG crew slinging burgers, Pizzateca pulling pizzas, Motherlode Nuggeteria with your nug fix, and for dessert, specialty marshmallow products (there is now such a thing and it is delicious) from Cloud Theory.
And as if that wasn’t enough, you can also purchase your Christmas tree at the event (if you’ve been sensible enough to wait until December. CityMag was not) from Adelaide Hills’ Santa Trees Christmas Tree Farm.
That is every possible facet of your festive purchases taken care of, thanks to the careful Christmassy curation of the Gilles team.
Doors at Gilles at the Grounds’ Bazaar will open from 12pm-9pm on Saturday and 12pm-4pm on Sunday. Keep an eye on the event page and Gilles’ Instagram for updates.
