Running from 6pm ‘til late tonight, the University of Adelaide’s Cloisters and Lawns, now known as The College Green, will become a place devoted to commemorating the trials and tribulations of our local music industry, as well as spotlighting some of the best compositions, musical collectives and organisations from the last 12 months.

Winners across a range of categories will be announced, including accolades specifically for artists and separate honours for industry-specific operations. (Click here for a run-down of the nominees).

Live music is also on the bill, with Adelaide-based rapper J-MILLA performing alongside indie four-piece SEABASS, industrial-electronic producer Lonelyspeck and heavy three-piece Chelsea Manor.

CityMag will also have our moment in the sun, when we present a new award: Best Innovation. This is a shout out to the quick thinkers in the local industry who developed new avenues for musicians to connect with audiences while we were all holed-up at home.

Tickets have sold out for the SAM Awards, but we’ll be in attendance, so keep an eye on our Instagram page. And check out our run down of the winners, which we’ll publish later in the week.
