The Fruitful Pursuit’s intimate 20-seats-only wine tasting event The Maker & Me is in the midst of its 2021 season, hosted at every Adelaidean’s favourite West End bar, La Buvette.

The Maker & Me is happening in a space at La Buvette not often utilised by the public, a room behind the back wall of the bar that, we’re told, was once used as a vault.

This coming edition of the wine tasting event will be an international edition, with winemaker Fabien Jouves streaming live into the room from his home of Cahors, France.

It’ll be like a live version of TFP’s Pyjama Wine series – except without pyjamas and with hosts James Hopkins and Tyler Grace Austin topping you up throughout the evening.

If you have an interest in Malbec, this is the wine session for you.

Fabien is “a producer who’s very close to my heart,” James says.

“Fabien is the spearhead of what we’ve coined the FUTURE MALBEC movement, led by a group of young, dynamic growers who are leading the renaissance of Cahors, one of France’s oldest wine regions and the true native home of Malbec.”
