Jasmine Mutesa, a young woman living in Port Augusta, is on the brink of adulthood. Facing a choice between a new life in Adelaide with a scholarship at a prestigious college or staying in Port Augusta to keep her family from falling apart, Jasmine finds herself at a crossroads, realising life is more complicated than she ever imagined.

Starring RnB powerhouse Elsy Wameyo and rising star Stephen Tongun (Netflix’s Spiderhead), with music composed by James Bannah Jr. and captivating writing by Matt Hawkins (Frank Forbes and the Yahoo Boy), The Deep North is an unmissable and empowering musical about finding your voice and the meaning of home.

Presented by Adelaide Festival Centre’s inSPACE Development Program and South Australian Playwrights Theatre.
