The Maker and Me: Gentle Folk
Basket Range as a locale is almost synonymous with the current trend of minimal intervention wines.
There are some very familiar names driving that ideology, a few of whom we got to know a bit better earlier this year; however, Gareth Belton is one winemaker many know to be just as synonymous with the Range itself.
The Fruitful Pursuit’s Maker and Me event, featuring Gareth Belton of Gentle Folk, will run this Tuesday, 12 June from 6pm. Tickets are $20, email scott@alfredsbar.com.au for a seat.
His winery, Gentle Folk, founded with his wife Rainbo, make wines, they say, “in the way we feel is right for the grapes and season and most importantly, with maximum drinkability and enjoyment in mind.”
This is something we at CityMag can certainly attest to, after sharing quite a number of glasses of Solar Power paired with pizza from our friends at Sunny’s.
You too can share in a much broader Gentle Folk experience, as Gareth hosts a 20-seat tasting at The Fruitful Pursuit’s The Maker and Me event, held this Tuesday, 12 June at Alfred’s on Peel Street.
The series is a fortnightly wine club attracting enthusiasts, industry gentlepeople, and well-meaning novices (that’s us) alike.
