Hindley Street Music Hall Grand Opening
The Hindley Street Music Hall, Adelaide’s newest state-of-the-art live music venue, will open its doors for the first time next week, on Thursday, 15 September.
CityMag has been along for the ride since this venue’s inception. Months ago, we visited the site when it was just a massive hole in the ground. We’ve also already waxed lyrical about the opening, which you can read in detail here.
But, we do love announcements, and the star-studded lineup for the first night features local and interstate heavy-hitters which we’re delighted to tell you about.
Nine-time ARIA nominee and critically acclaimed trio DMA’S will open up the evening. Adelaide audiences should expect euphoric, timeless singalongs from the three-piece rock outfit.
Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Wafia will also bring her idiosyncratic experience in the form of alternative pop anthems.
But a launch night wouldn’t be complete without a bit of hometown representation. Seven-piece West Thebarton are set to give the brand new sound system a proper workout, with Jess Day also on board to christen the stage with her croons.
The party doesn’t end after the band’s bow-out. A late night set from beloved party act Mash’d N Kutcher will take punters into the evening, while Nova FM’s breakfast radio hosts and Adelaide’s own Ben and Liam on hosting duties for the whole party.
