Concrete Archives: Symposium

As part of Yhonnie Scarce and Lisa Radford’s exhibition, The Image is not Nothing (Concrete Archives), showing now at ACE Open, the two curators are hosting a film screening of Australian Atomic Confessions (2005), directed by Kathy Aigner and Greg Young, at Nexus Arts.

The film touches on similar themes as that of The Image is not Nothing (Concrete Archives), such as nuclear colonisation, memorialisation and the nation state.

After the screening, there will be a panel discussion, featuring speakers Kathy Aigner (ACT), Rosemary Laing (QLD) and Karina Lester (SA) and hosted by AGSA’s Lisa Slade.

The panel will also be livestreamed via ACE Open’s Instagram page.

The Concrete Archives symposium is happening from 1pm ’til 4pm on Saturday, 10 April, and is free to attend.
