Run by festival and events company Untitled Group, 26 artists will play across the Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide events, but only eight of the lineup that’s been announced so far will play the Adelaide stage.

Last year’s Wildlands lineup also brought eight big names to Adelaide, with extended lineups playing the other states.

CityMag asked Wildlands why less than half of the listed acts were coming to Adelaide, but did not receive a response by the time of publication.

In response to a comment from punters on the lineup announcement post on Wildland’s official Instagram account, the organisers said: “Adelaide is an integral part of the Australian music scene, and we didn’t want you to miss out on the event of the summer.”

“While Adelaide is smaller than our other cities, we’ve still made sure our South Aus fans still get to experience most of Wildlands’ headliners for a jam packed day of good vibes,” their comment said.

Joining Fisher are American pop rapper Ice Spice and UK Drum and bass duo Chase & Status.

Also playing the one-day Adelaide leg of the festival are Berlin DJ and producer Marlon Hoffstadt, aka DJ Daddy Trance, and American singer-songwriter Tinashe who recently dropped her seventh studio album, Quantum Baby.

Sydney duo Royal Otis who recently went viral for their TripleJ ‘Like a Version’ cover of Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’ will also play.

English singer-songwriter Lola Young and First Nations rapper Baarka whose album Big Tidda is dropping at the end of this month, round out the Adelaide lineup announced so far.

Artists Becky Hill, Sammy Viriji, RL Grime, horsegiirL, Confidence Man and Joy (Anonymous), will play at the Brisbane and Perth editions of Wildlands.

As for the locals, we hear Wildland’s Portal stage, which received praise for its 2024 lineup of local DJs, its moderate size and placement, will return, with more information to come.

Wildlands is the first festival lineup announcement to hit Adelaide recently as a difficult landscape for festivals due to rising costs limits the events. Its announcement follows the cancellation of state-government-backed festival Harvest Rock and Adelaide Hills festival Vintage Vibes earlier in 2024.

First-release general sale tickets start at $119.90 and are available September 5 at 6pm. Pre-sale tickets are available from September 4, visit their website for more information.
