Program

‘Awe’ being the theme for 2024, there is plenty to inspire wonder in the packed program that ranges from outdoor art installations to guided family adventures to nature-filled food and wine events and musical performances.

Among the featured events is the Art Gallery of South Australia’s free 7 x 7 Awe Talks, featuring seven speakers, speaking for seven minutes in response to seven nature-based works within the gallery’s collection.

The Social History of the Adnyamathanha People, in the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park, offers attendees the opportunity to listen to an interpretation of traditional life through the recorded recollections from Elders, hearing how day-to-day life was changed forever by the influx of western society to the area.

SA artist Hari Koutlakis is creating a new large-scale sculptural work in Moving Mountains, elevating two suburban playgrounds into dynamic sculptural spaces of awe and wonder to be explored.

For those craving more time under tall trees, The Science of Forest Bathing explores the science behind the therapeutic practice of Shinrin-yoku. While Folk in the Forest with Courtney Robb and Snooks La Vie offers an immersive musical experience.

If you’ve been thinking about scrolling less and being more in the moment, the Nature Festival 2024 is the impetus you need to get out there.
