Look who’s hiring

This month there are a range of jobs up for grabs at some famous Adelaide brewers and distillers. Along with a host of hospo and creative positions waiting to be filled. Read on to see if any are up your alley.

APOTECA

If you’re in the market for a FOH or BOH hospo gig, APOTECA bar and restaurant is after both and needs people to start sooner rather than later. 

APOTECA seeks a chef and has casual roles available for experienced section waiters. For both positions, they are after applicants with a background in a la carte service and who are available across seven nights.

COOPERS

Coopers have put a call out to anyone and everyone looking for a job in the hospo space. Their new Regency Park development is set to open soon — a new restaurant and bar to go with it — and they have 24 positions to fill.

A mix of permanent and casual jobs are available across front and back of house including chefs, beer ambassadors, bar assistants and kitchen hands. Head chef, sous chef and assistant manager are also up for grabs.

EMBR HOSPITALITY

EMBR Hospitality has even more vacancies this month and is on the lookout for restaurant managers.

This is the team behind Oliveti, Bar Lune and Dolly, all of which have restaurant manager positions available. Although they are looking for people full-time, they are willing to make the exception for the right person if they need to do part-time.

FESTIVAL CITY ADL

Festival City Adelaide is the peak body for festivals and events in SA and they’re looking for a business support officer.

This part-time role requires administration or business support experience. Experience working in the festival or event industry is desirable, but not required.

GLUTTONY

The 2024 Fringe season may be long over but Gluttony is still working hard and have opportunities open at festivals for the rest of 2024 and into 2025.

Gluttony is after experienced site crew and cleaning staff with work available across events including the Glenelg Winter Arts Festival 2024, Lucky Dumpling Market 2024, New Year’s Eve 2024, and Gluttony for next year’s Adelaide Fringe.

KARMA AND CROW

Karma and Crow need an extra set of hands in their new Brooklyn Park kitchen and are on the hunt for a full-time sous chef.

They are looking for someone to start ASAP who can slot straight into their tight-knit team and work well under pressure. The position is for mostly day shifts, with the occasional function here and there.

MUSIC SA

MusicSA is looking for a new marketing and development manager and digital content coordinator. If you’re passionate about the local music industry and have tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications or similar this could be the gig for you.

The marketing and development manager role is full-time, starting with an 18-month contract. You’ll work on digital and print marketing, website management, social media, publicity channels and facilitate strong engagement with artists, businesses, venues, stakeholders and audiences.

The digital content coordinator is a part-time role, starting with an 18-month contract and includes content creation, website and social media scheduling.

NEVER NEVER DISTILLING CO.

Never Never Distilling has a couple of roles up for grabs but they are not on the hospo hunt.

Never Never is taking on the global market and needs a design and content creator who can help them shape their worldwide brand. They also need a sales support officer who can take charge of their retail and hospitality sectors and help drive sales here at home.

PIRATE LIFE BREWING

With another brewery and another slew of job vacancies, we’re sensing a boozy theme this month. Pirate Life Brewing in Port Adelaide have casual and full-time positions available.

They’re after casual hospitality team members who are flexible and keen to work with a mix of shifts across the week and bring good vibes to the team. Find out more information on this role here.

If the FOH stuff isn’t really your thing, and you are looking for something more permanent, no worries. They also need a full-time brewery packaging operator as well as a full-time brewery operator.

SLICE

If the alcohol or hospo space isn’t up your alley don’t worry, there are other jobs up for grabs this month. Local content agency Slice is seeking a full-time copywriter/ content producer and a full-time agency account director.

Slice needs a skilled communicator who can adapt the copy and content they produce across a range of different platforms. They also need someone who looks at the big picture and is a good multitasker with a marketing mind to step into the agency account director role.

Sôl Rooftop

SkyCity is expanding its bar team and is looking for some fresh faces to get behind the Sôl Rooftop bar.

As far as applicants go, they’re not too fussed. Whether you have years of experience or none at all, they are in the market for bartenders and mixologists any which way. As long as you have availability across Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, and a genuine interest in hospo this job could be your next.

South Ave is no exception to our theme this month. South Ave is in the market for a brand promotion specialist who can engage customers, promote the product and essentially get people to start drinking South Ave. Head here for more specific info on this role.

They also need a full-time national events and festival specialist who can head up initiatives that will bring South Ave to the national stage at events and festivals.
