World Gin Day
For most of us, every day is World Gin Day, but on one day every year, a collection of thoughtful venues across the city decide to help us embrace our botanical habit, and that day has finally arrived!
World Gin Day is this Saturday, 11 June.
Bar Torino are holding a gin degustation from 1:30pm, featuring gins from around the globe, and a sensibly suggested tapas menu.
Thrift Shop will be providing gin at what is touted as a “VERY reasonable price” as well as some free snacks offered off their new menu, because that’s all you need. Actually, it’s more than you need. All you need is gin.
Hains and Co. have something of a gin festival lined up, with a different headliner each hour. You can expect all the hits from your favourite distillers, 4 Pillars, 78 Degrees, Oude Genever, and West Winds among many more (all of which could quite honestly be band names, right?).
The Howling Owl will be showing you how to bootleg your own gin, with the help of KIS Distiller, Jon Lark.
There’ll be a gin wheel of fortune and a South Australian gin tasting board, and a selection of garnishes for you to chose from yourself at the Hendricks Bar.
