Yiasou George, Adelaide’s fun-loving, Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, has launched a new dining experience – ‘Winemaker Wednesdays’.
On the second Wednesday of each month, a different South Australian wine producer will showcase the best of their vinos served alongside Yiasou George’s mouth-watering Mediterranean food.
As a somm across cities ranging from New York, Sydney, Brisbane, as well as Adelaide, venue manager Shaun Lau (ex-Orana) has been looking for the perfect opportunity to connect with some of his favourite local producers in a more personal way.
“I am not looking to offer just another formal wine tasting. For me, it needs to be more approachable and fun,” says Shaun.
“Yiasou George creates an up-beat, vibrant atmosphere in its restaurant, and we wanted to bring these producers in on that energy.”
Expect to find a few of your favourite South Australian producers walking around on the restaurant floor, interacting with each table in more of a relaxed, social setting.
The night is designed to be a way for guests to ask the winemaker any burning questions they have as they taste their wares. ‘Winemaker Wednesdays’ pushes education about all things grape-related in a fun environment.
The producer’s wine will be available by the glass or as a tasting flight, from 6pm ’til late.
