Italian wines at their finest at Vino Espresso's tasting event
Vino Espresso
South Australian wine is much more than just big, bold bottles of shiraz from the Barossa Valley. And to prove this, a handful of local winemakers are getting together to show off what other grapes are being turned into wine these days.
This open event takes place tomorrow, 22nd May, starting at 5pm and finishing at 10pm. Hosted at COLAB ADL, located 1 King William Street, Adelaide.
Vino Espresso is a one-night only event put on by the effervescent Greg Grigoriou from Delinquente. He’s got a bunch of other emerging winemakers together with a theme – Italian grapes. Over the last 12-18 months our city’s wine lists have become riddled with names like: montepulciano, vermentino and nero d’avola. If you’ve noticed these names but haven’t had a good excuse (or bartender) to experiment with them – Vino Espresso is the perfect opportunity.
Head along to the ever-collaborative COLAB tomorrow night to meet the minds behind the wines, featuring Fredrick Stevenson, Unico Zelo, Scott Wines and Delinquente (Greg’s label).
Wine and food are always a good combination and to keep the Italian theme, you can enjoy cicchetti – finger food – by chef Mike Proud. And don’t worry, if wine’s not your thing, there’s beer too.
