More info

This is the method behind Sustainable Clothing Co.’s fifth iteration of their clothes swap, which allows you to fill your wardrobe with new garments at the same time as someone else building a new wardrobe our of your pre-loved items.

The rules are simple: bring items to trade that are in good condition – no tatters or stains – also no underwear, socks, formal wear or babies and children’s wear. Most importantly, take only what you need. So, no hoarding.

Research reveals women consider an item of clothing “old” when they wear it seven times. Some will toss items out after three showings.

Second-hand Hindley Street retail outlet Sustainable Clothing Co. aims to continue the lifespan of an item, giving it to a new home after you’ve become bored with it.
