Spectrum opens on November 14 at 6.30pm. It is showing at Tenth and Gibson – 87 Gibson Street, Bowden – until November 20.
What do you see?
Is it ripples of bursting, melismatic colour, the predefined chaos of an unfurling universe?
Or is it ice packed with glitter, string, destroyed tin cans and granulated plastic, lit by two remote flashes and photographed with a Canon MP-E65.
Billy Horn’s first solo photographic exhibition, Spectrum, has been over 4 years in the making.
Catering as much to the cool eye of science as to the crazed, bloodshot pupil of the astral realm, these images turn the detritus of daily life into something otherworldly.
