If you’re into weird and wordly music – with promotional clips that look like they were designed by Wes Anderson in a fever dream – Slowmango is the band for you.

The funk-infused five-piece will be performing this Saturday at Jive as part of the No Fun Series, which we reckon actually sounds like a lot of fun.

The event is organised by local booking agent Melt Frank Music, and alongside Slowmango there will be performances surf-rock psych newcomers Los Palms and indie three-piece Attonbitus.

A colourful troop of costume-wearing musical hooligans, The Bait Fridge, will also make an appearance.
