Showing films from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, it’s an opportunity for the cinema-going community of Adelaide to see works direct from the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.

Amongst the works screening this year are Magrete – Queen of the North, from director Charlotte Sieling, which depicts the 15th century queen of Denmark who brokered the Kalmar Union, uniting Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

There will also be A Matter of Trust, an “artful and elliptical relationship drama”, from Annette K. Olesen; The Woodcutter’s Story, which follows woodcutter Pepe as his quiet life is torn asunder; and The New Land, about Swedish immigrants making a new life for themselves in the woods of Minnesota in the 19th century.

There are a range of other films on offer – some Australian premiers – and you can browse the full lineup on the Palace Nova website.
