SALA 2024: Memory Palace 5000
It’s a cliché, but the only constant is change.
If you’ve grown up in our fair city – or returned here after years spent elsewhere – our changed streetscapes may provoke a nostalgia for something long gone.

But now you can fill in some of the missing pieces with a visit to Memory Palace 5000.
Curated by Stavroula Adameitis (aka Frida Las Vegas), this SALA exhibition celebrates Adelaide’s buildings and structures that only live on in the mind.
Local artists – including Billie Justice Thomson, Oakey, Donovan Christie and Samantha Faehrmann and others – reflect and reanimate their own personal ‘Memory Palaces’ across mediums including printmaking, sculpture, ceramics and textiles.
It’s showing at City Library, thanks to the City of Adelaide, a proud supporter of SALA Festival and Adelaide’s artistic and creative communities.
Experience the exhibition during City Library opening hours, or join them for opening night on Friday, 9 August.
