Record Store Day 2016

  • Words: Johnny von Einem

The Annual Day of the Vynilphile has returned and there are tonnes of places to get your fix of Record Store Day Releases around the CBD.

Remarks

Record Store Day takes place this Saturday, April 16. You can search a full list of affiliated events at the website.

Having set the precedent as the record store most dedicated to the cause, your first stop should be Clarity Records, who will once again be opening at the strike of midnight and shifting units for a full 24 hours thereafter.

With any luck there’ll be some vegan-friendly Clarity cupcakes again this year too.

Crackle and Pop will be helping to celebrate Lindes Lane’s first birthday with their stacked crates, along with the crew at Pirate Life pouring their latest brew, and the venue inviting people in to check out what lurks behind the fireplace in their Bar Low space.

Over at The Jade, long lost relics of Rundle Mall, The Muses, will be providing the vinyl; Jive will have their Record Bar open; and at The Ed Castle, purveyors of all things disco, boogie, soul, house and hip hop, Paradise Loft, will be holding their autumn record fair.

And if you’ve still got any cash left over by the end of that, Underground Records is launching on The Parade in tandem with their Record Store Day celebrations.

Go forth and buy vinyl!
