Tuesday, 18 August 2020

If ever you’ve doubted the invisible power of fate, please consider this: today, Tuesday, 18 August, is International Pinot Noir Day at the exact same time as East End Cellars is hosting its Posh Pie Day.

Remarks

Posh Pie Day at EEC
From midday Tuesday, 18 August
25 Vardon Avenue, Adelaide 5000

Such events cannot be put down to coincidence. It can only the be the universe imploring you to partake in a posh pie and a pour of pinot for the betterment of your mental wellbeing.

From midday today through til close (around 7:30pm—8:30pm), East End Cellars’ head chef, Josh Lansley (formerly Press* and Aces) will be plating up to variations of posh pie: cumin-spiced lamb, and butternut pumpkin, pine nuts and goats cheese.

Each pie is priced at $25, and is served with mashed potato and pureed pees.

As for the pinot, the lovely team at EEC have suggested Mac Forbes’ Yarra Valley Pinot Noir, available for $12 a glass or $47 by the bottle.

It’s wintery as heck outside, so go get warm by the ambient glow of hot pastry.
