Way back in July of 2013, freelance photographer and regular CityMag contributor Andre Castellucci was sent on assignment to Los Angeles.

Tracking around the sprawling city for 26 days, Andre photographed an entire book’s worth of pictures for a magazine called Here that was distributed as an accompaniment to a stay at The Line hotel in Koreatown. But being a photographer, Andre couldn’t help but keep his camera on-hand and take photos even when not working on the assignment.

From Wednesday October 29, we become the beneficiaries of Andre’s over-zealous shutter finger, when he opens an exhibition of 20 black and white prints at Jack Ruby. Printed on German etching paper, the glimpses of one of the world’s most mythologised city’s through Andre’s eyes is a refreshing view of a place that has for so long been shown in one light only.
