Peanut Gallery grand opening
Adelaide’s small gallery scene has been decimated over the last few years, with stalwarts like the Tooth and Nail gallery and Espionage shuttered.
Peanut Gallery and Of Land and Sea officially open at 6pm tomorrow (Friday, September 30). Find them at Shop 115, Balcony Level, Adelaide Arcade. The bar will be stocked with local beers, a special pirate-themed house drink and wine from Hither & Yon.
Peanut Gallery – a new venue opening in Adelaide Arcade – steps into this void.
An initiative of Adelaide artist and curator Fruzsi Kenez and graphic designer Caroline Gliddon, Peanut Gallery will be “supporting Adelaide’s emerging talents and positioning them among established interstate and international artists, many of whom will be exhibiting in Australia for the first time”.
The Gallery will officially open tomorrow (Friday, September 30) with an exhibition entitled Of Land and Sea, in which twelve artists from around the world will be showing works on the theme.
Featured artists include Tristan Kerr, Kyoko Imazu, Bohie Palecek, Katherine Wheeler, Gary Seaman, Lana Adams, Kate Gagliardi, Cat Rabbit, Emma Kidd, Peter Fong, Cathy McMurray and Daniel Moreira.
