New Sounds for an Old Room

The first of the the New Sounds for an Old Room takes place on Tuesday, April 26 from 6.30pm in the Reading Room at Adelaide University’s Barr Smith Library.

The first in a new series of concerts run by students of the Elder Conservatorium in collaboration with the Barr Smith Library will take place this month.

The series focusses on all new contemporary-works by young Adelaide composers, painters, drawers, projectionists, video artists and performers in the beautiful setting of the library’s old Reading Room.

The room will be open from 6.30pm for exhibition (and reading), with the musical program starting from 7.30. The inaugural concert will feature musical and/or visual works from Dan Thorpe, Frank Giles, Sebastian Tomczak, Jacob Whitelock, Lily Coats, Adrians Ozols, Roshan Ibrahim, Billy Oakley, the test-tube life and Jeffrey Thomson, among others.
