Over the course of 2020, musicians Mindy Meng Wang and Tim Shiel collaborated on a project that, by its name if nothing else, was definitive of its time: an EP titled Nervous Energy.

The record was released in 2021, and it’s only now that the duo have been able to properly tour the release and show audiences their work in the flesh.

As part of Illuminate Adelaide 2022, Nexus Arts is hosting Mindy and Tim for a Nervous Energy show, in which audience’s will be treated to Mindy’s guzheng – a traditional Chinese instrument – and Tim’s compositions, which oscillate between breakbeat and minimal house influences, and laid-back dub and pop sounds.
