Adelaide will celebrate the founding fathers of British comedy opera, Gilbert & Sullivan, at G&S FEST – a 10-day festival happening from 11—21 May.

In the first event of its kind to be held in the Southern Hemisphere, State Opera South Australia is bringing the duo’s entertaining and family-friendly repertoire back to the stage.

Aficionados and first timers alike are invited to jump aboard for high-seas adventures in Pirates of Penzance, experience romance and intrigue in H.M.S. Pinafore, witness magical mix-ups in The Sorcerer, enjoy a zany Mother’s Day afternoon tea at Mad Songs of Englishmen, get their thinking caps on at the Quiz Night, or get the tissues ready for the Sullivan in Love recital.

There is something for everyone at the festival, all served with a side of boisterous tunes and clever, witty lyrics.
