Gravity & Other Myths masters Ten Thousand Hours
As a 10-year-old, this writer wished to become a circus acrobat. Six hours of full-on home practice delivered minimal skill improvement and, fickle as ever, that ambition shifted to thoughts of being an inventor.
Had Ten Thousand Hours been around then, the show may have precipitated a more dedicated, enduring acrobatic regime.
The show from Gravity & Other Myths – the Adelaide legends behind Fringe hit, A Simple Space – is a celebration of the pursuit of mastery. A playful ode to time, sweat and sacrifices required in the pursuit of acrobatic mastery.
This world premiere season features a cast of eight elite acrobats, all internationally renowned masters of their artform. Through honest, cheeky and daring physical storytelling, their superhuman skills become relatable, ensuring audiences of all ages are glued to the edge of their seats.
Go for the thrills and leave with an appreciation of the countless hours required to master the skills… and a warm feeling from seeing others live out their childhood dreams.
