Getting laidback with the ASO’s Sanctuary Series

2–3 February 2024

  • This article was produced in collaboration with Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.

The ASO’s new Sanctuary Series feels like it’s onto a winning formula with its invitation to recline on a yoga mat while the orchestra plays.

Sanctuary Series – Fragmentation

Surely, this is how music should always be enjoyed?

The first outing in the series is Fragmentation featuring David Sharp as the conductor and Joshua Oates on oboe.

As the ASO website says, “Feel the gentle passing of time as strings pulse through The Persistence of Memory. Bryars’ The Porazzi Fragment and Sciarrino’s Languire a Palermo both travel back in time to revive a fragment of a melody that Wagner wrote but never used.”

With a Friday night performance kicking things off, it’s the perfect way to unwind after a hectic week.

Tickets here.
