Gender equality in the visual arts
This Friday, Elvis Richardson, Mia van den Bos, and Ashleigh D’Antonio will sit down together in a public forum and host a conversation about gender equality in the arts.
The talk will be run on the back of Countess, which is an initiative that compiles and reviews statistics examining gender equality in the Australian art world. So far, evidence suggests that gender biases play a role in determining what art is exhibited, collected and rewarded.
This talk is a part of Countess’ fundraiser, and will help fund an editorial team to continue the research, data collection and publication that continues to provide evidence of the need for change.
The event is free, but donations are encouraged.
