‘Forest Defenders’ screening

Wednesday, 21 July 2021

The Adelaide Hills Forest Defenders is hosting a screening of the film Forest Defenders, to raise money for the Bob Brown Foundation and its advocacy for the Takayna Tarkine forest in Tasmania.

Remarks

‘Forest Defenders’ screening
From 6pm Wednesday, 21 July
The Regal Theatre
275 Kensington Road, Kensington Park 5068
Tickets and more info

The film will take you to the frontline of the fight for the forest, and shows how members of the general public are stepping up to advocate for the protection of this important piece of Australia’s environment.

The advocacy is in opposition to minerals corporation Minerals and Metal Group‘s request to extend the life of an 85-year-old zinc, copper and lead mine by creating a tailings dam.

If the dam is approved, it’s expected the company will clear 285 hectares of rainforest and other terrain.

The screening is being held at the Regal Theatre in Kensington Park, and tickets to the event are $40—$45, plus booking fees. All proceeds from this screening event will go to the Bob Brown Foundation.

The ticket price will not only get you access to the film and a warm fuzzy feeling due to your contribution to the cause, but also a glass of wine, a bowl of soup with some bread, and access to a silent auction.

There will also be further wines available for purchase on the night from Commune of Buttons and from the private cellar of Ochota Barrels.

Tickets are limited and can be purchased via Eventbrite.
