Enormous Blind Spots exhibition
Identity and appropriation are two themes occupying a great many minds in art and media in 2017, including Adelaide-based painter, Aida Azin.
Enormous Blind Spots opens this Friday, 11 August from 6pm at Format, 80 Hindley Street.
Aida is an artist whose work is “informed by post-colonial theory, the importance of self-representation for people of colour, and engaging with cultural heritage,” and her latest exhibition, Enormous Blind Spots, opens at Format this weekend.
The exhibition will feature entirely new work, including a large site-specific piece developed for the main gallery of Format, and you are invited to the opening this Friday, August 11 from 6pm.
Aida will also take part in an artist talk this Sunday, August 13 from 5:30pm, and Enormous Blind Spots will show for three weeks, until September 1.
