Cloister Workrooms: Clothes For The Home

Remarks

The exhibition will be held on Thursday, February 9th at 6pm.

Cloister Workrooms, Room 217, Level 1, Epworth Building.

A silk nighty. Silk boxers. Cotton boxers. An oversized t-shirt. A fluffy k-mart nightgown. A vintage Christian Dior nightgown. A pair of slippers. Thongs. Bare feet. Nothing.

What one wears in the home is intimately personal. Or not.

Format Systems and Cloister Workrooms are presenting an exhibition that seeks to examine the purpose, use, and place of clothing, especially in the home.

A team of local designers have worked together to bring about the collection of garments, including Christopher Arblaster, Angela Carrig, Lachy Lang, Andrija Sala, Saskia Scott, Timothy Tuppence, and Jason Van Hamburg.

Throughout the exhibition’s run time, four events will take place in the Workplace, including:

– A sewing class at the Workrooms (Thursday, February 16)
– A dinner (Sunday, February 19)
– A film night (Tuesday, February 21), and
– A closing sale (Saturday, February 25)

For more information, Format suggests (in true Format style) that you attend the opening this Thursday.
