Clarendon Creative Dinner Party: EOIs sought

Remarks

Applications to be part of the event are being accepted until July 2.

Find all the details and the application form at the Adelaide Festival of Ideas site.

Everyone is invited to apply to be a part of 40 artists, thinkers, and creatives participating in an artful and experimental evening in the form of a progressive dinner party taking place at the newly-launched Clarendon Creative Retreat.

The theme of this event is ‘what sustains us’.

Together, all participants will ruminate on the future of South Australia’s newest artist and thinker retreat through playful exchange and the discussion of the conditions required for creative thinking. This event will take place in the former home of the great Australian artist, Noela Hjorth. She enjoyed on this property a long and notable artistic career of printmaking and painting.

When: Saturday 7 July, 5 — 9pm

Where: Clarendon Creative Retreat

Cost: $80 Fee will be charged once your application is successful.

Application Deadline Monday 2 July
You’ll be notified on Tuesday 3 July

All guests will be asked to ‘bring something to the table’ as a provocation in the form of food, art or thought. Your offer will represent something that sustains you as a creative: something you have grown with your own hands, tastes symbolic of your cultural heritage, a recipe that reminds you of your mother, or another poetic expression to contribute to the event.

The dinner party is devised by Dr Marnie Badham, artist-researcher at RMIT University. Marnie’s work examines the relationship between food, art and politics and the ‘social life of artist residencies’.

The event will be documented by audio and video to be presented at the Adelaide Festival of Ideas to vision the future of Clarendon Creative. The session is ‘Clarendon Creative Dinner Party’, Sunday 15 July, 1pm in the AHMS Joe Verco room.

Additional information regarding transport to the event, accessibility needs, dress code, and dietary specifics will be sent once your application has been successful.

You will be asked to answer these four questions as part of your application.

1.  Name and email address

2. Who are you? (3 adjectives)

3.  Why do you want to attend?

4.  What can you bring to the table?
