Alpha Box & Dice took over the wine list at The Kings Head Hotel, and now they’re taking over the kitchen too.
The Kings Head Hotel are known for their pie floater, and AB&D are known for creating wines of alternative styles and varietals. The two SA icons are mashing their skills together to create a menu of four custom pie floaters to match four of AB&D’s signature wines.
The options include:
1. Snapper & chili pie floating in confit fennel & roast garlic puree + AB&D Uncle Sauv Blanc
2. Leek, mushroom & ricotta pie floating in cauliflower puree + AB&D Pink Matter Rose
3. Hoisin duck pie floating in plum puree + AB&D Tarot Grenache
4. Beef shin pie floating in roast celeriac puree + AB&D Lazarus NV Ripasso (holy shit that’s good value!)
Side note: AB&D wines will be on pour throughout November at The Kings Head and Sturt Street Cellars, with events, deals and specials running all month.
