You’ve got to love a good collab, especially when breweries are involved.

West Fest, The Third sees the return of the free – yes, free! – beer festival spanning three brewery sites in the western suburbs.

Featuring more than 50 beers on tap, live music all day and DJ sets into the night, it’s the kind of festival that’s made for a good-time Saturday spent with friends.

The three western powerhouse breweries co-hosting the event are Bowden Brewing, Big Shed Brewing and Shapeshifter Brewing Co. And they’ve made sure to keep the party atmosphere high, even between sites.

There’ll be a free hop-on, hop-off silent disco bus to transport revellers between breweries and Bowden’s Jake Phoenix reckons “it’ll be the most fun you’ve had on a bus since Year 9 camp”.

If you need a glass of liquid courage before busting out the dance moves, look for the breweries’ other collab, the official West Fest Session West Coast IPA. Available on tap and to take away, this will be its launch, so grab it early before supplies run out.

There’ll be plenty of food options, with a Viet Street Food truck parked at Shapeshifter, Big Shed slinging their kitchen classics and Bowden Brewing’s MASA providing their untraditional Mexican fare.
