2. Sucre Patisserie
397 Magill Rd, St Morris
Opening Hours:
Tues-Thurs: 10:00am – 4:00pm
Keva Freeman has been on Magill Road only a couple of months but Sucre Patisserie is more than 20 years in the making.
“I was previously working from home and it was chaos, and it really stopped me from growing,” Keva tells us when we stop in for a delicious and Royal Adelaide Show-awarded lemon tart. Keva returns to Adelaide after a long stint in Europe plying her trade.
“The neighbourhood is excellent, everyone is so supportive – it’s nice to be around other small business owners. People come in regularly whenever I’m open.”
Sucre is very much a bootstrapping start up, with Keva undertaking the renovation of the premises herself and the business’ sole employee. So make sure you stop by when the place is open (see right) as it’ll be the boss who serves you up a delicious pastry fresh from the oven.
3. 1K Chairs
152 Magill Rd, Norwood
Opening Hours:
Wed-Fri: 10:00am – 5pm

More than some sort of chair museum though, 1K Chairs on Magill Road is all about representing the very best of design and manufacturing in Australian and global furniture. There’s no fakes, replicas or copies at 1K Chairs and Emma will only be too happy to explain how buying authentic pieces adds value to your home.
