“This machine will take your photo, take out the background and put you on the cover of a magazine,” says Myer Centre marketing manager Lia Wilson.

“So we decided to find a local magazine that’s well known.”

Enter, CityMag.

Lia says they decided on us because they wanted to use an Adelaide based publication that was “for everyone”.

“It doesn’t matter what age you are, what gender you are. CityMag is something that appeals to everyone and has something for everyone,” she says.

“Also, the fact that it has a big focus on Adelaide city, I just thought it was a perfect magazine.”

The CityMag photo booth will be one of the many events on offer at the Myer Centre this ADL Fashion Week.

“We’ll have live music,” Lia says. “We’ve also got Ricca Terra — they’re from the Riverland. They’re coming in to do wine tasting, but you can also grab yourself a free cocktail.”

Other events occurring at the multi-level takeover will include masterclasses, styling sessions and live DJ entertainment.

But what Lia is most excited about for ADL Fashion Week 2023 is to spruik what’s available in local stores now.

“So, the whole point of Fashion Week in Adelaide is to not showcase designer brands that people can’t get their hands on,” she says.

“We’re showcasing brands that are available to buy now in store in the city of Adelaide.”

Lia says she also wants people to reminisce about the Myer Centre and feel nostalgic about the history it has created during its 32 years in Rundle Mall.

“That’s the thing — we want them to just come into the centre and have a great experience,” she says.

“Living in Adelaide, have grown up going to the Myer Centre, and no matter what age you are, you’ve always got really good memories from the Myer Centre.

“We want parents to bring their kids in and have those same experiences.”

The Myer Centre’s ADL Fashion Week events begin on Friday at 10am and run till 2pm, before starting up again from 5pm until 8pm. On Saturday and Sunday the fun runs between 10am and 2pm.
