Vintage Vibes, the music festival due to take place at Woodside in just over two weeks, has been postponed to later this year due to "economic pressures".

Tomich Wines said the Vintage Vibes festival scheduled for the weekend of January 27 and 28 was now likely to be held in late 2024.

While a new date has not yet been announced, a representative for Vintage Vibes told CityMag it will still be a summer festival.

A combination of the cost of moving infrastructure, economic challenges facing venues outside of the CBD and average ticket sales created “a perfect storm of events” for festival organisers.

“We thought it’s better to pull the plug now and actually regroup and create a festival that’s worthy of local and international acts coming to the South Australian region,” a Vintage Vibes representative said.

A statement posted to the festival’s Facebook event page said that going ahead with the event in two weeks “would not meet the high standards of experiences we promise our attendees, artists and partners”.

Event organisers are coordinating with artists and their management to determine if the lineup, which included international headliners Rudimental and Groove Armada and ARIA-nominated Aussies Ball Park Music, can remain the same.

Vintage Vibes told CityMag it’s likely the Australian artists on the lineup will be similar to what’s already been announced, but international acts will depend on touring schedules.

They also confirmed that local acts on the lineup – The Tullamarines, Stellie, Tonix and more – won’t lose the chance to perform on the festival stage and will be rolled over to the new date, with the potential for bigger and emerging artists to possibly join the lineup later.

Refunds are available via Oztix but festival organisers encourage ticket-holders, if they’re in a position financially, to hold onto their tickets for the rescheduled event.
