Kutchi Deli Parwana – Afghan street eats

For almost too long the new offer by Henley-Beach-Road-heroes, Parwana, sat shrouded by a thin, plastic, painter’s sheet on Ebenezer Place.

The signage, commissioned by MASH and executed deftly by Tristan Kerr, was too interesting and the idea of what Afghani street food might be – too enticing. So, fed up with waiting, we challenged the Ayubi family to a duel… with a public BBQ.

Needless to say they won and subsequently the veil has been lifted on Kutchi Deli Parwana.

Remarks

Open 11:30 – 16:00

7 Ebenezer Place

Do try their
Dilmah-beating
teas too

Headed up by chef Sayed Ayaz Asna and the second generation of Ayubi women: Fatema, Durkhanai, Zelaikhah and Zhara the offer is simple and menu easy to navigate. People new to Afghani food may discover rose and cardamom as new flavours but rest assured the traditional Middle Eastern steez strike through.

While the short menu is likely to change regularly, we trust anything chicken by these chaps – our Morgh Degee made mouths water. But, aside from the savoury, make sure you leave room for Fatema’s tasty treats – our pick: the Afghani donut!
