Currently under construction on Peel Street, Alfred's is set to bring a different style of service to the epicentre of SA's small bar movement.

Bringing a pub feel to a small bar space, Alfred’s is coming to Peel Street.

Inspired by owner Scott Quick’s grandfather, the bar will channel its namesake, who Scott describes as a warm and hospitable host.

“Growing up I always remembered him brewing his own beer in his shed and people coming over to enjoy his home brews at one of the bars he had in his home,” Scott says.

“His home became ‘a local watering hole.’”

How exactly a traditional pub will fit inside a small bar space will be interesting to see, but with esteemed designer Matiya Marović of Sans Arc Studio at the helm, it’s sure to deliver equally on comfort and aesthetics.
