When Bank Street Social opens this Saturday, July 18, new patrons will flood the long, warm, underground bunker and everything will be confusing but exciting. Familiarise yourself with the venue and get prepared for what’s to come.

These martinis made with Australian West Winds gin were dirty and delicious. A good, strong cocktail to get you started for the evening.

Like much of the beverage list, the beers are made by small local brewers and the selection will change often.

Bartenders were appropriately handsome / beautiful and also knowledgeable and helpful, which is pretty great.

Food is supposedly not the main focus of the bar – but these tasting platters were very good. The beef jerky is particularly tasty and will likely have people going back for seconds.

The design is on point – close, warm, with good finishes and nice fittings. The large beams that create the internal frame around the bar were salvaged and shipped from Queensland.

The lovely Mark Reginato might even be there.
