Every South Australian venue shortlisted in the 2020 Eat Drink Design Awards
The annual Eat Drink Design Awards announced its 2020 shortlist on Friday, 28 August, with South Australia’s dynamic array of hospitality fit outs getting a good showing amongst the nominees.
Five South Australian design firms have been shortlisted across 9 nominations in five of the seven available categories – some projects attracting multiple nods, for built form as well as graphic identity.
Sans-Arc and studio -gram have the highest likelihood of taking home an award when they’re announced on 18 November 2020, with both companies attracting multiple nominations.
They’re joined by RAD-Studio, Design People, Peculiar Familia, and Uppercase Studio.
The Eat Drink Design Awards were founded to support innovation an excellence in hospitality design and are endorsed by the Australian Institute of Architects and the Design Institute of Australia.
The Awards recognise the experience of dining out is more than the sum of ingredients organised on a plate.
The physical design of a space, when executed well, can foster intimate evenings, bustling conversations, or backdrop a raucous pre-party, complementing the tone of the restaurant itself.
Adelaide’s hospitality scene has undergone a coming of age over the last decade, and the calibre of design in our restaurants, bars and cafés is testament to this.
With that in mind, below is a gallery of images of every South Australian venue shortlisted in the 2020 Eat Drink Design Awards, for your perusing pleasure.
