Adelaide Hills wineries, restaurants and bottle shops will be honouring the vibrant and versatile wine with tastings, paired dinners, promotions and immersive experiences.

President of the Adelaide Hills Wine Region Jared Stringer says the event is a chance to celebrate some of the finest chardonnays in the world.

“We will be celebrating what makes it so good and why it grows so well in the Adelaide Hills,” Jared says.

“It will put Adelaide Hills chardonnay on the map.”

Anderson Hill will be hosting the ‘Ultimate 80s Chardy Party’

The event will see businesses hosting their own events throughout May, which include anything from an Ultimate 80s Chardy Party at Anderson Hill to a back vintage tasting at Howard Vineyard.

Hahndorf-based Sidewood Estate has planned a four-course degustation, featuring some of their finest chardonnay wines, and a menu designed by esteemed chef Ali Seedsman.

Sidewood’s Chief Sales Officer Steve Dundon says the event will demonstrate the versatility of Adelaide Hills chardonnays.

“We want to show how amazing chardonnay is as a varietal in the Adelaide Hills, and also how versatile it is with food,” he says.

‘The degustation gives us the ability to show off our back vintage wines, as well as those from the current vintage.”

“It will help shine a light on what we are doing as a chardonnay producer.”

The Stirling Hotel will end its month-long chardonnay showcase with a Yum Cha long lunch, featuring their four top chardonnay producers.

The four course selection will be curated by Executive Chef Brendan Boothroyd and will be matched to the top Adelaide Hills producers.

The four wines will also be available all month as a tasting flight at the Stirling.
