Adelaide’s summer hangout spots

Warmer weather has returned to Adelaide (around the odd rain forecast), so it’s time to book a spot to drag your friends to and catch some long-awaited sunshine.

The key to a good summer is pretty simple: friends, sun, food and drinks – and a great location in which to enjoy them.

Adelaide is serving sunshine once again, and there’s no better place to relax in the warmth with a frothy than a cosy beer garden.

Adelaide’s pubs have stacked their calendars full of events to draw you in, so we’ve selected three spots we reckon will fulfill your every summer desire – be it a major celebration, a casual get-together, a couple of hours of sport, or an end of year work show.

Brighton Metro Hotel
466 Brighton Road, Brighton 5048

Summer, to the wise, means just one thing: spritz season is upon us. The Brighton Metro Hotel’s newly styled beer garden is giving Mediterranean, with Aperol slushies, classics spritzes, charcuterie and dip plates. Of course, no beer garden is complete without the huge outdoor screen for whatever sport your friends want to watch.

Find out more at the Brighton Metro Hotel Instagram or Facebook.

Parkside
142 Glen Osmond Rd, Parkside 5063

Cocktails are a must on hot summer days, and Parkside in Purple is the best way to cater to that need, with the event featuring signature drinks by 23rd Street Distillery and plates by the pub’s in-house team. Get your sporty friends together and settle in for some summer viewing in the beer garden, or try the new weekend brunch menu before the weather gets too hot not to be at the beach.

Find out more at the Parkside Hotel Instagram or Facebook.

Mile End
30 Henley Beach Road, Mile End 5031

This iconic western suburbs pub will keep your weekends rolling, with its weekly Retro Sundays events offering two for $25 cocktails and DJs to keep you pepped from 2pm. The Mile End also hosts a family-style Christmas lunch, which could be your new annual tradition.
