The series is a collaboration with independent craft beer supporters Founders First, who have recently launched mixed cartons of independent craft beer, known as Local Indie Craft Knock Offs.

The cartons are available for $60 through Coles subsidiary bottle shop brands Liquorland, Vintage Cellars and First Choice Liquor.

The Thursday Night Knock Offs gig series concept aims to complete the puzzle for those of us missing spending an evening at the pub, beer in hand, listening to local musicians live.

“Going to the pub to catch your mates and favourite band in the front bar with a local craft beer in your hand is one of the great Aussie traditions,” says Founders First’s Director of Venues and Hospitality, Ash Cranston.

“We want to bring back this experience with Thursday Night Knock Offs to support some of our great music, brewing talents and pub culture.”

“We are really grateful to Founders First for supporting the talented musicians that will be appearing in this series.” continues Sparkke co-founder Kari Allen.

“It’s extremely positive for all of the breweries involved and so exciting for Sparkke to be able to share the Whitmore’s beautiful rooftop space.”

This, but in your house

Given Sparkke’s position in the Adelaide hospitality scene as a bastion of female entrepreneurship, the Thursday Night Knock Offs lineup consists solely of female artists or bands that are either all-female or female-fronted, kicking off with Alana Jagt this Thursday, 21 May from 6pm.

The livestream will happen on Sparkke’s Facebook channels (see its general account and pub account at the links), and will consist of two 20-minute sets.

Following Alana Jagt’s appearance, on 28 May will see The Boys Club take the rooftop stage, then The Eileens on 4 June, and George Alice on 11 June.

There will also be an opportunity for warmhearted viewers to contribute directly to the artists performing via each artist’s PayPal donation account. The musicians, and the industry at large, needs and appreciates your help.

Come 6pm Thursday, grab a beer, pull up a screen, head over to Sparkke’s Facebook page and croon along with Adelaide’s own Alana Jagt.
