Eco fashion label, Vege Threads is throwing a party this Friday night at their new digs - Open Studio. It's not just fun times and nice wine though, their new collection is out and they'd like you to rug up with them this winter.
Party: Vege Threads launch
Just back from hawking her wares at the Finders Keepers market in balmy Sydney, where the most common comment on the just-released Autumn/Winter collection was, “why are you selling beanies?” owner and founder of Vege Threads, Amy Roberts is happy to be back in her chilly hometown to officially launch the winter range.
Party starts: 6PM Friday
May 15th Vege Threads is located in Open Studio, a little loft space in the south of the city. Access is from the rear of 33 Sturt Street
Vege Threads is quietly consumed by the idea that clothes should be produced with as little impact on the earth as possible. You can read more about what makes them tick here but interestingly, this latest collection sees the local label move towards an even more local future with Australian-based manufacturing of their fabrics, styles and colourways becoming a priority for the fledgling company.
That means jobs – people! Joe Hockey wants you to go out and buy eco clothing for the good of the country.
So get with the program.
The collection is simple and, of course, looks good on those darn models (stop it Scott from Mischief Brew!) but it really needs to be seen in-person… wine in one hand, certified organic cotton knitted and dyed in Australia with certified organic dyes in the other.
Thanks to those good guys at Hither and Yon you’ll have the wine and thanks to Amy – the clothes. What an ethical way to start the weekend.
