Good Music Month is an open-access, state-wide music festival with a diverse musical roster and venue base, appealing to every South Australian’s taste and budget.

Shows will be held across wineries, boats, libraries, breweries, universities and classic live music venues.

The ARIA award-winning Birds of Tokyo will join the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra at the Festival Centre for two nights only.

Local talent includes Molly Rocket and Druid Fluids at the opening event, alt-metal band The Mark of Cain, ARIA award-winner The Audreys in a one-night-only performance at the Woodville Town Hall, alt-pop singer-songwriter Aleksiah and sibling duo Caroline & Claude at Jive’s Queer Club, and bands Newgate Crowd, Violet Harlot and Rafikee in the Barossa.

National names include rockers Short Stack, Jebediah, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, Great Gable Dune Rats, Augie March and Beddy Rays, as well as singer-songwriter Jack River and country band The Beefs.

Internationally, the UK’s Bloc Party (rock), Ezra Collective (jazz) and Frank Turner (punk and folk) join the line-up, as well as US punk-rock band Pulley.

Also on the program is a three-day Elvis Festival, a Northern Sound System x WOMADelaide showcase, and a Twilight Cruise down the Murray River.

MusicSA CEO Christine Schloithe says Good Music Month elevates SA’s festival state status and aligns with the South Australian Music Awards on November 8.

“Any genre and style of music can register in Good Music Month anywhere in South Australia and we want local audiences and visitors to get out and see live music and support incredible artists, venues, and events,” she says.

SA Minister for the Arts Andrea Michaels says: “Events like Good Music Month are incredibly valuable to showcase not only our talented local musicians but also our dedicated live music and hospitality venues.”

Registrations for Good Music Month are open until October 31.
