Adelaide Gin by Australian Distilling Co

Adelaide Gin by Australian Distilling Co

Let the aromas of South Australian gin botanicals become the scent of Christmas. Developed by Australian Distilling Co, Adelaide Gin is a unique spirit inspired and enhanced by the flavours of its namesake city and surrounds. The richness of Kangaroo Island lavender provides a subtle and delicate floral profile built up with the traditional range of juniper, orris root, coriander, and cardamom, making it the perfect base for your summer cocktail this Christmas.

JamFactory

Support Australian designers and makers this Christmas with a curated selection of gift ideas from JamFactory. Glitter and play in the sunlight this summer with the ‘Crystal Cuff’, hand dyed and cut in colourful PVC by Adelaide contemporary jeweller Kath Inglis ($170), or pair it with the lustrous ‘Cosmic Cluster Ring’, a showstopping 9ct gold and silver signet ring from Melbourne based jeweller Anastasia Mannix.

Lienert Vineyards

Lienert VIneyards

Nothing says Australian Christmas more than a bright and lively summer Rosé – paired with a barbecue, of course. The 2021 Tierra del Puerco ‘Catalisa’ Rosé, made by the Lienert brothers, has a beautiful pink blush colour with plenty of fresh strawberries on the nose. This Barossa single vineyard Grenache Rosé is available on tasting at Artisans of Barossa or direct from Lienert Vineyards. Careful, one bottle is never enough.

Lucia’s

Lucia's Pudding

You love your family a great deal, and so it would be a disservice to them to serve up a Christmas pudding of lacklustre quality, made with amateur skills (speaking for ourselves) and based off a recipe found online from one of the major supermarket chains. Instead, stop by Lucia’s, who seem to not be able to do anything wrong. The Lucia’s Christmas pudding is filled with dried fruits, spices and brandy, and is available in three sizes. The team suggests fresh vanilla bean crème anglaise as an accompaniment, available at Lucia’s Fine Foods, and while you’re there, grab a Billie Justice Thomson x Lucia’s cotton tea towel and a handmade hamper and gift your folks the full Lucia’s Christmas experience. Find Lucia’s at the Adelaide Central Markets.

Reset Day Retreat

Give the gift of R&R this Christmas by purchasing a day retreat hosted by local dietitian Lara Nowland and mindset coach Rosie Dunstan. Held at the stunning Lapito House on the Fleurieu Peninsula, you can unwind and recharge from the silly season with bushwalking, nutrition and mindset workshops, and yoga flow. And with Lara curating a gourmet menu for your day, you’ll be wanting to take her home.

State Opera

State Opera

Fall madly in love at Glenelg beach on the last weekend in March. Bohème on the Beach is a one-night-only outdoor spectacular not to miss. State Opera presents Puccini’s epic love story on stage under the stars with a cast of Australia’s best voices and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Food, wine, a Glenelg sunset, and the greatest love story ever told. The perfect gift for that special someone.
