Everyone’s favourite South African expatriate – Duncan Welgemoed (of Bistro Dom and The Happy Motel fame) is doing something new. You should probably start lining up now if you want a seat there anytime this year.

Teaming up with his Happy Motel colleague, James Brown, Duncan and some of his Bistro Dom team will be setting up a new place in the East End. Touted as bordering on the edge of surreal in both the food and design elements, the restaurant is bound to attract huge interest when it opens. Duncan – who has extensive experience as a chef across several continents – is a man who always does something different and of its place, so the only thing we’re sure of at this stage is that we’re not sure of anything. That goes for the location too, which shall remain secret squirrel for now.
