Les Trois Mousquetaires: D’Artagnan, the first instalment in his lavish take on Alexandre Dumas’ classic novel – the combined budget was a casual €72 million – sold more than one million tickets in its opening week in France.
The concluding film, Les Trois Mousquetaires: Milady was a similar success.
An all-star cast, including Vincent Cassel, François Civil and Eva Green, and landmark locations like the Palais du Louvre, Hôtel des Invalides and Fort-la-Latte ensure Francophiles and everyone else will be in raptures over this pair. Rotten Tomatoes scored D’Artagnan 98 per cent and Milady 91 per cent.
Opening the French Film Festival here, it’s sure to be a hit.
