The Garden of Unearthly Delights is back in action for 2021, and shows aren’t the only delights it will be serving.

In addition to the wide variety of shows on offer at The Garden of Unearthly Delights this year, there are plenty of extra-curricular activities to take part in.

Below we’ve compiled four things to do at the Garden besides (or in between) the shows you’ve got tickets for.

Play food & drink bingo

The Garden is playing host to 30 food and drink stalls – make it your mission to visit as many as possible.

With each visit to the Garden, it will be easy to try something you’ve never tried before. Stalls such as The Tuckshop will feature Aussie classics, while cuisine from across the world will be plated up at stalls such as King Creole, Ozzie Gözleme, and Gyoza Records.

There are also drink offerings from places like Sangria Bar and Pineapple Brothers, you’ll be kept refreshed during the hot summer nights.

And if bingo isn’t you game of choice, grab a the CityMag Festival edition to play the Fringe Food Playoffs – a friendly competition between the Garden’s food vendors and those across the road at Gluttony.

Ride it out

Bring out the family for some fun with classic festival rides. Enjoy the view of Adelaide from above on the Ferris Wheel for a bit of downtime, then let those simmering inter-family tensions slowly bubble to the surface with a “friendly” session on the dodgem cars.

Weekends have always been family time, but remember that mid-week family shows can be easier to get tickets to and that the Garden is just as fabulous on any day of the week.

Shop ‘til you drop (all your cash)

If you find yourself with some spare change and in need of some retail therapy, the Found Market will present a curated selection of vendors selling everything from handmade, vintage, and new fashion to floral arrangements and scented candles.

The market is open at the same time as the Garden, so there’s plenty of time to browse and buy between 5pm to late during weekdays and 10am ’til late on weekends.

Do it for the ‘gram

Every year, the Garden is an explosion of lights, colour and art, so it’s the perfect opportunity to bombard your social media followers with pictures and videos, spreading the dreaded FOMO far and wide. Make sure to use the Garden’s official hashtag: #GOUD21.
